Local residents campaigning to save 291 Hills Road from developers have produced a video making their case. You can see it below*:
It’s a tragedy that million-pound houses are being bought just for demolition and replacement with unwanted, cheap-looking blocks of flats. The City Council has received over 170 written objections to this particular scheme, from people right across the city. The organisers of the campaign to save the house really couldn’t have done much more to make their case. The council’s Planning Committee is meeting on 25 April to consider the application. If they agree that the house can be demolished, this awful practice will probably continue, or even accelerate. It could be the house next door to you next.
