Save the Green Belt campaigners to present to planning inspector on 10 February

WORTS-CAUSEWAY

Campaigners against council plans to allow housing development on Worts Causeway are submitting their statements for consideration by the planning inspector, with the deadline being tomorrow (12 January). Several well-researched submissions by local residents and interested parties are known to have been provided, with the authors of many also planning to present their case in person to the inspector next month. Subjects which will be covered include projected population issues, housing numbers, transport, wildlife and more. It is to be hoped that with the planning inspector – unlike at the council last year – reason and evidence will triumph over ideological and commercial interest, but it is still a challenge to ask for any part of the council’s Local Plan to be overturned.

The relevant public hearings are on 10 and 11 February at at the South Cambs Council Offices in Cambourne. The public may attend and will hear the presentations for and against the plans.
