This blog isn’t intended to be a community newsletter, but there are quite a few things going on in the area which could do with better publicity, so I thought I’d highlight some of the publications which might bring them to your attention.
The first is Queen Edith’s Community News, which is the printed newsletter which you should receive through your door. Funded by the council, it’s improved over the last few issues and I’m trying to maintain an online archive of these here. If you don’t get a copy, my archive might be the place to check.
Queen Edith’s Community News only comes out every few months, and therefore a more up-to-the-minute publication is the Queen Edith’s News email. It’s now run by our county councillor, Amanda Taylor, but it’s not a political publication, and in my opinion, it really ought to be going out to every single resident in the area. Just email Amanda here and she will put you on the circulation.
Finally, there’s a Queen Edith’s Facebook Page which is run by a small group of residents including Amanda Taylor (again). Many Facebook users don’t know how to get notifications from pages they follow, so here’s how: go to the page, click “Like”, then click the little arrow on the “Liked” button and select “Get Notifications”.
If there are any other information resources for the ward which you think I should mention, do let me know in the comments on the blog.
